Carbohydrates often get a bad rap, but they are vital for our bodies to function optimally.

But what exactly makes carbs so important?
Well, imagine a car without fuel? Useless. Carbs are like fuel for our bodies, providing the energy needed for our cells, tissues, and organs to carry out their tasks efficiently. They are the preferred energy source for our brain and muscles, keeping us sharp and active.
Carbohydrates also play a crucial role in regulating our mood and emotions. Ever experienced a "hangry" moment? It's the result of low blood sugar levels caused by inadequate carb intake. By including the right amount of carbs in our meals, we can stabilise our blood sugar levels and keep those mood swings at bay.
Not all carbs are created equal, though. Whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and legumes offer us complex carbohydrates, which are rich in fibre, vitamins, and minerals. They provide sustained energy and promote digestive health.
